         VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION

 

 Foster Care

 Objective:    To provide temporary care for young or injured animals in your home until they are of age, weight and good health to be returned to shelter for adoption.

 Duties:

-Provide care to mother cats or dogs and their litter

-Occasionally administer medicine to sick animals

-Transport your foster animal to shelter for treatment as needed

-Treat injured/sick animals as directed by SPCA staff

-Return foster animals and supplies to shelter once ready for adoption

 Training:

-Complete foster application

-Interview with Foster Coordinator and Veterinarian Technician

 Commitment:

“Flexible” Varies depending on need

 Supervision:

Direct supervision by Foster Coordinator and by the Veterinarian Technician
