Name: Mark Buehrmann
Petname: Parker

Parker is doing well! He is growing like a weed, and as
expected, keeping me very busy. That said, he has a great
temperament and gets a lot of affection from everyone who
sees him. I really needed to outfit him at first to get him
used to the cold and protect his pads from the salted
sidewalks. Attached is a photo. Now he doesn't need the
sweater, so is spared the embarrassment :) He loves the
car, and seems to fall asleep whenever he gets in for a
drive.
Cheers, Mark

Petname: Moondance (Formerly Mai Tai)

Look who came to visit us!!
Moondance was adopted back in October. She is doing fantastic
in
his new home. She even performed some tricks his new owner
has taught him. It was great
to see her and we look forward to future visits!!
Moon's owner writes:
This is Moondance...or Moon for
short. Her name used to be Mai Tai when she was here at the
animal shelter. Moon fit in so fast at our house. She is
so playful and smart. She loves to chase the lazer pointer
and even learned some really neat tricks like sit, lie down,
turn around and sit up already. I'll be visiting the shelter
more and can't wait to be back to say hi! 2/10/10

Name: Colleen
Larkin
Petname: Tommy/Sphinx (Tyler)

After a very sad month following the
death of our beautiful 14 year brown tiger, Cleo,
we came to the SPCA almost 3 weeks ago to adopt a new furry
family member.
Our family of four came in with the intention of giving one
cat a new forever home--but
instead, we left with TWO kittens--brothers named Tommy and
Sphinx (you knew him
at the shelter as Tyler). I just wanted to let you
know that both boys are doing GREAT.
As I type this, they're peacefully snoozing on the couch
next to me, cuddling together,
after a long morning of playing. They obviously love
each other and are very happy to
be members of a family. They're starting to fill out
nicely (they eat like CRAZY), play
hard, but are still two of the sweetest kittens you'd ever
want to meet. I'm glad we
came in that day. It's so good to have pets in our
home again. Thank you. (I'll send
pictures shortly).

Name: Tracy
DeLoreto
Petname: Scratchy
I adopted Scratchy 16 years ago
from the SPCA. She was the pet of the week and
I knew as soon as I saw her that she was the one for me. At
the time I already had a
cat (since has passed away). When I brought her home they
became fast friends. Today,
at 17 she has almost as much energy as the day I first
brought her home and keeps her 2
brothers in line. I am just thankful that you brought her
into my life. 1/20/10

Name: Georgina Fisher
Petname: Molly
We absolutely LOVE our new beagle. We
named her Molly and she is adapting well. She started
running and playing in her big fenced yard with her new
brothers as soon as she got home, but it is still taking her
awhile to play with toys, but she is starting to grab a ball
once in a while. She sleeps in my daughters bed every night
and always has a warm sofa next to the fireplace to lay on.
She is spoiled and is LOVING it. Could you please send me
some information on how I can become a member of the SPCA
and donate or help more. I wish I could have taken all the
orphans home and really want to help out as much as
possible. Thanks a million. The work the SPCA does is
exceptional and want to do my part.

sweetheart! I attached a picture of her and her new

Bonnie.

Petname: Baci
The picture is from Baci graduating from puppy school at
Eagle Ridge in
Orchard Park, NY-her best friend at school was a mini
Chihuahua named
Sophie-quite the pair!!
Thank you so, so much for your support in adopting my
beautiful baby Baci!
She is a wonderful addition to my life and family. She is
kind, loving, but most
importantly playful and happy!
We have recently moved to Providence, RI, where Baci is
absolutely
LOVING swimming in the ocean and playing in the waves, and
her favorite
dog park is 2 blocks away. She will swim way out and then
take her time
coming back! Our match was perfect!

Petname: Scooby (Cookie Monster)
We wanted to update you on how Scooby the basset hound
(formerly Cookie Monster) is doing. We adopted him in early
June. He was a
bit of a handful the first few weeks but has settled down
and behaves well now.
He needed plenty of chew toys because he loves to play and
has alot of energy. He
lays in some of the oddest positions u could imagine. He
gets along great with our
older beagle who is very mellow. They are best friends now.
Its safe to say he has a
forever home with us. We thank you foryour compassion,
patience and dedication
to animals.

Petname: Pixie/Bubbles
We want
to thank you again for bringing Pixie (formerly Bubbles)
into our family.
She is now 8 years old and still full of surprises. Of
course you can teach an old
dog new tricks ...but the best ones are the things she comes
up with all by herself!
Pixie just started to "stand up and dance" and wave her paws
in delight when
Daddy comes home. We had never seen her do anything quite
like this until Daddy's
job took him away for several days at a time. Upon his
return, Pixie is dancing and
smothering him with kisses! She also decided to mother a
kitten we were fostering,
snuggling it and licking it's tiny head. Pixie loves rides
in the car, walking on the
Conservation Trails, snuggle time with Mom on the couch and
playing fetch with the
girls ... but she truly loves her Grandma the best. We are
so grateful to you and your
staff for all of your help and caring.

Petname: 7-up/Phantom
Hi, our cat phantom (you know him
as 7-up) is doing great. He is a little crazy
but he is very much loved. We got him because our two cats
have died and our
dog Gretzky has been very lonely and sad. However Gretzky
and Phantom love
each other and are best friends. Gretzky is very happy now
that we have got Phantom.

Pet name: Hooch
Just wanted to let you know hooch
aka dingo is doing great. He has calmed
down and is quite the couch puppy. He responds well to
commands and is
very playful. Still working on his leash training as he gets
excited when he
sees people or other animals. He is also a great watch dog.
Thanks to all of
you especially for letting me know how playful he is. He
loves his new
surrounding and is getting bigger by the day. I have never
seen such a kissable,
loveable dog. Thank you again!!!!

Name: Sherri Marsh
Petname: Ruby
I just wanted to say thanks for
letting me adopt Ruby. She is the perfect dog for this
household. She is very calm, gentle, laid back. She listens
well. When she wants
attention she puts up her paw and touches you. She doesn't
bark but she tells you
with her actions there is someone out there. She likes the
cat and he likes her. I adopted
Trouble Kitty from you as well back in Feb. When she is left
alone in the house, she
gets into nothing. She doesn't need a crate at night. She
sleeps where ever she wants
to at night.

I brought Charlie (AKA: Charles Addams) home on April
9, 2009. He has been with us
here in Ontario for almost a month, and we can't imagine
life without him. He is so loving
and eager to please. He is sweet-natured and
silly. He is a wonderful dog. Even my
two other dogs, Hayley, (the queen bee around here)
and Wednesday,
(the little princess) enjoys having a prodigy or more so, an
apprentice.
As stated
I have a I already had a 3 ½ year old Weimaraner named
Hayley and a 1 ½ year
Old Italian greyhound named Wednesday Friday Addams. Some
people call me
CRAZY for taking on another Weimaraner because all the
responsibility. Well, guess
what happened? I
got myself a very nice dog. Charlie gets along great with
all of my
dogs and Hayley , my Weimaraner, and Wednesday my Italian
greyhound have been
role models and play mates for him. The three of them run
and race through the yard,
go
exploring together for
squirrels and chipmunks, and sometimes in the house play
a
very hard game of tug of war and tag. It is not unusual to
find the three of them
sleeping
together with their bodies touching.
Thank you
Niagara County SPCA,
for you
dedication and diligence in helping animals and so many
families.
Love and Kisses
Charlie, Hayley, Wednesday and Theresa

Name: Doug
Petname: Hush Puppy/Loki

Thanks for allowing us to adopt the newest
addition to our family.
My 24 year old son, Doug, who lives with me, adopted a
Rottie-Chow mix
from you on Feb 14. He was a stray and you named him
"Hush Puppy".
Doug renamed him Loki, Norse god of mischief. He has
done his share of
mischief too, but he is doing wonderfully and we both love
him completely.
He has a Cairn Terrier brother and 3 cats and gets along
with all! He is such
a sweet, non-aggressive, non-jealous dog, completely devoted
to Doug. He
has a huge fenced backyard to play in and gets to go to the
park at least once
a week to run and play with other dogs. He comes on
the first call, was
housebroken in a month, and is very gentle. Loki loves
to play ball as he did
with your volunteers and knows how to come, sit, stay, and
walk on a leash already!
He's a smart dog and will have a wonderful life.
The photo shows him a bit fearful of a camera,
but he will get used to being the
center of attention and love. Thank you for all you do
to help these animals.

Dear Mr. Chille and the entire staff of the Niagara
SPCA:
My name is Max and I am writing to extend a big thank you
for bringing me and
my newly adopted family together.
I know I have made a big difference in their lives since
I came to live with them-
they are so happy and eager to play and take me for walks in
the park! Having
me as their pet has given them a positive boost in their
disposition and general
outlook on life. They tell me that they felt very forlorn
until we serendipitously
met each other at the Rainbow Animal Shelter. I have given
them a new "leash"
on life!
Thank you for harboring me in my short stay at the
shelter and for introducing
me to my new family. I hope all the animals you have for
adoption will be as
fortunate as me to make a big difference in the lives of
potential owners.
Here is a picture of me in my new home.
Sincerely,
Max and Paula

Petname: Titan/Jack
Hello!
I just wanted to send a note about a dog we recently
adopted from your shelter.
Titan (who we have re-named Jack) is just adorable. He has
quickly adapted to t
he leash (even though we've only had him since Thursday) and
he loves going for walks.
He's almost there with housetraining as long as we're quick
enough to see his signals.
He's not crazy about the crate but settles down after a
short time. He does like to
play-bite and chew but we're being consistent about
discouraging that and giving him
lots of appropriate items. We even took him to meet my
sister's dog
(who is a Chihuahua/Cocker Spaniel) and they played great
together. He was so quiet
at the shelter and has since found his voice but isn't
overbearing about it. He is a beautiful
and loving dog and we couldn't be happier! I'm so glad we
continued to check your shelter
while we were looking for a new dog. I hope other people
give these dogs a chance!
Thank you!

Name: Nicole Majewski
Petname: Otto
Otto (along with his cat sister
Kiki) went missing from my aunt in June 2008. After a
lot of legwork to different shelters (Erie County SPCA,
etc.) we found him at your shelter.
Turns out he and Kiki were surrendered as strays by a third
party. I was only able to
have one cat so I chose Otto. He is now named Mr.
Kitty, and is the best friend I always
wanted. He is constantly around my husband and I,
involving himself in everything we do,
whether that be watching TV, being on the computer.
He'll even sit close by on the kitchen
stool while I cook. He is a very loving and loyal
friend, he greets us at the door when we
come home and seems to particularly know if you're feeling
sad or sick--he'll come up and
cuddle with you. He is also my walking alarm clock--he
knows I have to get up at a little
after 6 each morning and jumps up on the bed at that time
and rubs his head on mine to
wake me up. I'm very grateful to your shelter that he
was taken care of well in the time he
was missing, and for your staff who was kind and sympathetic
to us in helping to find him
and get him back.
