Fresh from your home to our website. Here are some of the memories you have shared with us:

Pet's Names: Panic Roach and Scrappy

Can you believe these two beauties are so similar yet were adopted 4 1/2 years apart? Their new family says they are doing great!!!

I adopted a kitty named Zoe from you in mid January this year.  She is a BEAUTIFUL addition to our home.

Her paperwork indicated she was given up by her owner due to health issues. We hope her previous owner reads
this to see how well Zoe is doing!!

Zoe is the light of our home which we needed because we lost one of our kitties in December, and Zoe helped bring our home back towards happy again.  She was not a replacement; there could never be one for a lost kitty; but she is definitely an enhancement to our home.

Attached are recent photos which will let you know she is loved, and in total control of our home!!!  As it should be.

Thank you for giving us the chance to meet her, and love her.

Pet's Name: Indie/T-Bone

Just over two years ago my family saw Indie (previously named T-bone) on petfinder.ca.  His picture called out to us, so I took the day off of work, jumped into my car first thing in the morning with my dog Zero and drove the two hours to the Rainbow Animal Shelter (we live in Toronto, Canada).

As soon as I laid eyes on Indie I fell for him. One of the volunteers then brought Indie out to meet Zero and me and he started to give Zero kisses. Since that day, Indie has not stopped giving Zero kisses. I’m sure that he thinks that she is the one who decided to bring him home! The two of them are inseparable and do everything together.

When Indie first joined our family he was very tentative and shy and didn’t know how to interact with humans. He has come along way since that time; he has learned what listening means, how to ask to go outside and a multitude of tricks. Indie also enjoys days at the park running as fast as he can in large circles with Zero chasing behind him, curling up in my daughter’s bed to sleep and playing fetch. Indie found his forever home with our family and it happened to come along with the love of his life – Zero!

Pet's Name: Elizabeth

The attached is the pic from your website when I adopted Elizabeth approx. 3 years ago.  Elizabeth was an 11 yr. old Golden Retriever / German Shepherd Mix and was the best dog ever!  Unfortunately a tumor the size of a small loaf of bread was discovered last Thursday and she went down hill fast.  Elizabeth was put down on the following Saturday due to breathing difficulties and loss of appetite.  Please, everyone with a Golden Retriever or German Shepherd, get the occasional stomach x-ray that can possibly discover tumors of the spleen.  11 years is too short for a dog that, with the exception of a tumor, was way too happy, healthy and active.

RIP Elizabeth

Pet's Name: Swing/Jaclyn

Swing's new family has named her Jaclyn. They say she is doing great and they couldn't
be happier. You can see above that she has already taken over the bed!!

Jaclyn Update 2/9/11:

Just an update, she is doing great, her real personality is starting to come out now !  She loves terrorizing the cat, the way she jumps at him, I swear Jaclyn is part baby deer, she just jumps with all four legs up in the air, its incredible, I never seen a dog do this !!  Also, she wants attention 24/7, and when she don't get it she barks and whines until you find out what she wants !!  Oh and another thing .... did u guys know she loves potato chips.  I went to sit down the other night and I set my bowl down, well before I had a chance I hear crunch, crunch, crunch, she was helping herself to the chips !  Too funny !

Name: Candice
Pet's Name: Flurry

Candice came to visit the SPCA today and brought pictures of our little Flurry. He's not so little anymore!!
He is 5 pounds already and growing like a weed!! His new family said he is a "Flurry" of activity, a whirlwind
of fur and fun!!!                                                                                                     January 2011

Name: Tom and Kim
Pet's Name: Wrangler

Wrangler became part of our family in October and he's loving his new home. He fit right in and plays well with Mia ( lab mix ) and Yukon ( Alaskan Malamute ) both of which are rescues. He's gained weight, his tail (nub) never stops wagging and we found  that he loves to howl if you whistle at him. His howl makes us laugh because it sounds like he's gargling. Below are some pictures of him and his new pals, Mia's by his side 24/7 so getting a picture with just him is tough.

If your reading this and debating getting a dog from the SPCA do YOURSELF a favor and get one, they seem to know that their getting a second chance. They show nonstop love, devotion and with a little patience become part of the family fast.

Thanks to everyone at the Niagara County SPCA !

Name: The Snyder Family
Pet's Name: Bennett

We adopted our Hound mix in Sept '09. His was unresponsive to his name (Colorado) so we decided to change it to Bennett, also called Ben. He needed a bit of manners training for the first few months, but quickly became a favorite member of our family. He is now our house celebrity. Whenever we have company over he is always there at the door to quietly greet them. Most people give him more attention during the visit than us; which is fine with us because he is just so inviting!

He has been on vacations with us, and really loves the outdoors- even the snow! Our last vacation he went on a 2day trip doing a 13mile hike, and a 10mile canoe trip. Being a hound, he was super excited to experience all the scents that there were in the deep woods.

We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful dog, and would like to thank SPCA for taking such great care of him. Also, thank you for the oppurtunity to add to our family!

Name: Krystal
Pet's Name: Violet

I adopted a 2.5 month old terrier mix just before Thanksgiving 2009 from the Niagara County SPCA. When she came home it was a rough start. She was not even potty trained but with a lot of headaches and effort it is 1 year later and she is a happy and gorgeous dog. She is extremely intelligent (sometimes too much for her own good when she gets bored lol) and learns tricks fast. Violet is extremely protective of her family and home. She just needed some patience and some love.
Violet found her forever home and is loving it! Thank you for giving the opportunity to find her.
