The Mary Moore Pet Cemetery provides a peaceful park-like setting in which owners can come, be near their departed pets and relive all the happy memories. From the moment you pass through the brick pillars marking the entrance to the cemetery, you feel the serenity of the surroundings.

A brick and granite memorial walk leads you up to the cemetery platform and you immediately meet the gaze of St. Francis watching over all of the animals. Above ground marble and granite columbarium niches are available for the burial of cremated remains. Mounted on the face of each unit is an engraved bronze plaque with the pet's name, date of birth, and/or death or a sentiment of your choosing.

The Cemetery is located on the grounds of the SPCA of Niagara at 2100 Lockport Road in the town of Wheatfield.

Remembering your pet.

WHEN WE PAUSE TO GRIEVE:

LOSS OF A FRIEND
Losing a beloved pet through death or having him or her put to sleep is a loss that takes time to accept. The following are a few suggestions that may help you to deal positively with your loss.

A TIME TO GRIEVE
In beginning the grieving process, you must accept the fact that your pet is gone and allow yourself to feel sadness just as you would for the loss of any loved one. You may experience a period of emptiness, sorrow or anger. This is the time when the support of family and friends is most important. It is helpful to recognize that other pet owners have gone through what you are experiencing and you are not alone.

A TIME TO HEAL
The healing process begins when you are able to let memories evoke smiles instead of tears. Remember that you provided a loving home for a pet that otherwise may not have been so fortunate. You also experienced and shared in the unconditional love that an animal so willingly provides. The satisfaction you experienced by making a lasting commitment to your friend should prove to you that you do have room in your heart to welcome another animal in need of your companionship.

A TIME TO LOVE
You will know when the healing process is complete when you are ready to welcome a new pet into your heart and home. At this time, please consider a homeless friend from the SPCA of Niagara to fulfill the need for a companion animal in your household.

IN MEMORIAM
To memorialize your pet's passing, you may choose to make a donation to the SPCA of Niagara in memory of your pet, plant a tree in your pet's honor on the SPCA grounds, purchase a brick in your pet's honor for the walkway leading to our cemetery, or become a member of the society. The SPCA of Niagara also provides an individual cremation service for a fee, should you desire your pet's ashes for either a special place in your home or yard, or for future placement in our cemetery.
