an animal shelter at 2100
Lockport Road, in the town of Wheatfield.

Accepts
pets from owners who, for various reasons, must
relinquish them. These adoptable animals are
sheltered and cared for until new homes are found.

Accepts
stray and abandoned animals that are brought to the
Niagara County SPCA and picks up these animals in cities
and towns where contracts exist.

No
Time Limit - A healthy animal with a good temperament
(barring extreme overcrowding) will be sheltered until a
home is found.

Ambulance
Service - Picks up reported injured domestic stray
animals 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Cruelty
Investigations - has on staff a Humane Officer to
investigate and, if necessary, prosecute cases of
mistreatment of animals within its jurisdiction.

Works
in close cooperation with police units and public health
authorities.

Education
- Has on staff an Education Director and facilities to
provide educational materials, seminars, and field trips
to schools, youth organizations and the general public
on the handling and welfare of animals.

Has
facilities to painlessly and humanely euthanize sick,
ill-tempered, over-age and seriously injured animals.

Provides
custom cremation services and operates the Mary Moore
Pet Cemetery, a facility designed to provide a beautiful
and peaceful final resting place for our companion
animals.

Provides
newsletters quarterly to keep you updated on the
Shelter, as well as animal issues and helpful hints and
upcoming events.

Provides
a "Lost and Found" card file, for all pets in
the area.
