As a volunteer, you can make a difference in the lives of animals. In just  two hours per

week you can not only lend a hand to the shelter staff, but also help spread the message

of responsible pet ownership & care in your community.

You’ll  never find a more grateful and loving being  than the animal you are comforting.

The animals will bring a little sunshine to even the most dismal days and you will experience

joy on the day our animals find their forever homes.

You will make friends while working with others toward the common goals of  health, safety,

and  emotional well-being for our animals.

Tail Waggers

A Tail Wagger is an individual who works with our dogs.  There are several positions with                                                          the dogs including dog  walkers, kennel enrichers, kennel butlers and kennel assistants.                                                                Training is provided for all positions.

Purr Pals

Purr Pals are individuals that work with our cats in our cat room. Purr Pals will interact with the

cats insuring that the cats’  living   environment is conducive to helping the cats thrive.  Training

is provided for the cat room , as well as our off site locations.

Community Outreach

These individuals will represent the Niagara SPCA  at community events. They may be                                                               transporting an animal, setting up and breaking down the event, and answering questions for the                                                 public.
